Laminaria Hyperborea (2016). Bio-epoxy, mild steel, acrylic tubes and rods.
Site specific installation consisting of six cast species of kelp installed at Lang Craigs in Dumbartonshire, Scotland.
Humans move species beyond their native ranges both deliberately and inadvertently. Many of these species become established and spread. This "reintroduced" species was situated on the grounds of what was once part of Overtoun estate that is now under the management of the Woodlands Trust. It became a response to the estate's historic practices of cultivating non-native plants and the Trust's current, controlled methods of reintroducing lost species.
